SORA, the Japanese word for SKY, inspires this slender uplifting, silhouette.
SORA was originally designed for the Crafts III building at Arcosanti, AZ. This building always reminds us of the famous 1950s Sky House in Tokyo by Architect, Kiyonori Kikutake, inspiring this piece’s Japanese influence. SORA is also inspired by the upward facing altarpiece atop the ceramics apse.
SORA (SKY), to pay special homage to the uninterrupted space and fresh air that encompasses Arcosanti, the magical experimental city very few get to call their home.
Feels great to pull out from the table, drape your bag and/or coat over the back rest and dine/work from this functional art piece.
